From Alexandria to DC: Our Journey to Bring Argentina to the DMV
At Tango Pastry, our story is one of passion, tradition, and community. What started as a small dream in Alexandria, VA, has grown into a beloved bakery with location in Vienna and now, Washington, DC. Along the way, we’ve stayed true to our mission: to bring the authentic flavors of Argentina to every table.
Our Roots in Alexandria
Our journey began in Alexandria, where Chef Katriel first introduced the DMV area to the rich, comforting flavors of Argentine cuisine. From our signature empanadas to our freshly baked pastries, every dish was crafted with love and a deep respect for tradition. Alexandria was where we built our first community of loyal customers, and it will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Expanding to Vienna
In 2023, we opened our Tango Pastry Café in Vienna, VA, bringing our flavors to a new neighborhood. The warm reception we received was a testament to the power of good food and shared experiences. Vienna became a second home, and we’re proud to continue serving our community there every day.
Our Kickstarter Journey to DC
Recently, we launched a Kickstarter campaign with one goal in mind: to bring Tango Pastry to the heart of Washington, DC. Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we not only reached our goal but surpassed it. Every empanada, every alfajor, and every cup of coffee sold during the campaign brought us closer to making this dream a reality.
